Appeal to find Brighton bombing 999 workers over asbestos risk

Fears that fibres of asbestos had been released in Brighton due to an explosion in the eighties have lead to the police to send letters to anybody that may have been in the vicinity. Also officers who responded to the scene were put at risk of being exposed.

Legionella bug closes birth centre in Somerset

Swimming Pool Forced to Close due to Discovery of Legionella Bacteria

Castleton Swimming Pool in Rochdale has been forced to close after traces of potentially deadly Legionella bacteria were found.

The bacterium legionella pneumophila and related bacteria are common in natural water sources such as rivers, lakes and reservoirs, but usually in low numbers. They may also be found in purpose-built water systems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers, hot and cold water systems and spa pools.
