Romey Carter is the Microbiology Laboratory Manager at Envirochem, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our microbiological testing department. Since joining the company in 2021, she has played a key role in advancing the department’s analytical capability through the development of both current and new testing methods.
Holding a Biomed degree from the University of Kent, Romey brings a strong academic foundation to her work, underpinned by a passion for applied microbiology and quality science. She manages all aspects of microbiological analysis, from method validation and laboratory workflows to quality assurance and staff training. Working closely with Technical Director Duncan Russell, Romey oversees audits, the validation of new testing methods, and the maintenance of quality systems in line with UKAS requirements, ensuring all testing meets the highest scientific and regulatory standards.
Romey is passionate about technical innovation and professional development, fostering a culture of precision and learning within her team. Her leadership ensures that Envirochem’s microbiology testing department remain at the forefront of accuracy, reliability, and client confidence.
