Duncan is the Technical Director at Envirochem, bringing a wealth of expertise in environmental and analytical chemistry. Holding a BSc in Chemistry from the University of St. Andrews and a PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the University of Southampton, Duncan further honed his skills through postdoctoral research in analytical chemistry.
Since joining Envirochem in 1997, Duncan has been instrumental in driving technical excellence across the organisation. As Quality Manager for the Chemical and Microbiological Teams, he has overseen method development and validation to UKAS and MCERTS accreditation standards, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in testing. His extensive technical knowledge includes maintaining and operating advanced analytical instruments such as IC, GC, GC-MS, and ICP systems, alongside staff training and optimising laboratory workflows through report formatting and LIMS implementation.
An Associate Member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (AFOH), Duncan is deeply committed to advancing the field of environmental consultancy. His contributions to quality assurance and technical innovation have been pivotal in maintaining Envirochem’s reputation for precision and reliability.
With decades of experience and a passion for developing robust analytical methodologies, Duncan continues to lead Envirochem’s technical operations, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of environmental analysis and consultancy.
