Dr Dave Rogers is a highly experienced and respected occupational hygienist with a global career spanning decades, having worked across over 55 countries and in numerous industry sectors. He has been a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) since 1992, holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Auckland, a Diploma of Occupational Health Practice from the University of Otago, and an MBA from the Open University. A full member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) since 1990, Dave is a Chartered Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (CFFOH) and has served on the Faculty committee since 2019, recently becoming Deputy Registrar in 2024.
As a professional consultant since 1990, Dave is renowned for his solutions-oriented approach to occupational hygiene and strategic management, delivering comprehensive workplace health and safety services to organisations of all sizes. He has conducted over 1,000 occupational hygiene workplace risk assessments, offering expert advice on managing chemical, physical, and biological hazards. Dave has also lectured extensively, including teaching W201, W500 series, and P304 (COSHH Awareness) courses, and contributed as a Peer Reviewer for key training resources.
Dave is a passionate advocate for a holistic approach to workplace health, safety, and wellness, emphasising effective communication from shop floors to boardrooms. He has authored more than 70 scientific papers and presentations and mentored numerous BOHS candidates and Workplace Health Without Borders (WHWB) mentees. A co-founder of the New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society, he served as its President in 1994–95 and has been deeply involved in shaping the profession through his roles as an examiner, assessor, and advisor for BOHS qualifications.
