Envirochem visited the archaeological site to do a soil profile and take various samples for soil analysis to discover if any contaminants are found at the site.
Project Scope
Envirochem attended the site in Southampton city centre and took photos of the three trenches from the top and inside the trench. A profile of the trench was drawn and the depths of varying layers of materials were measured approximately for the creation of a soil profile. Samples were then taken from the top, middle and bottom of the trench and the depths recorded. The same exercise was done for all three trenches. The samples were then transported to the laboratory and analysed for asbestos, water content, sulphates, pH, metals, speciated TPH and BTEX and an interpretive report written.
